I typed in Google "The Mystery of Love" and got endless references about a song written by Sufjan Stevens entitled "The Mystery of Love." Sorry Sufjan, but there's more to the mystery of love than what little you said about it. I continued scrolling down the page to find one reference after another to music. That's fitting. Many songs describe the mystery of love but who has the time to listen to all of them to find the verse that applies to his or her love situation. And finding it, can that song help him or her to resolve the issues causing those emotions. It is doubtful. I would say no. Also, I found many references to authors of books entitled "Mystery of Love" or "The Mystery of Love", mostly romantic novels. Psychology Today weighed in with topics more in line with what I wanted.
How could the mystery of love be missed by all the great minds of the world? How could what I consider to be the mystery of love not be mentioned by anybody on Google? Of course, I didn't scroll through all the Google pages, so maybe its in there somewhere. So let me say more about the mystery of love as I think about it. And I'm naming my definition "Lane's Mystery of Love" to distinguish my thoughts from the thoughts of others. And no, mine is not a song.
Lane's Mystery of Love has to do with the love felt between a man and a woman that leads to marriage. If you refer to yourself as gay or LGBTQ, you may apply what I say to your relationship. Two people fall in love and get married. After the initial six months or so called the "Honeymoon Phase" they turn their attention to chores, careers and generally children. My particular mystery of love pertains to their losing the love benefits of talking together about issues that are important to them. I maintain that nearly every married couple has important subjects about themselves that they will not or cannot discuss. By not discussing those subjects, the couple loses a great deal of love and intimacy.
You can expect to hear a lot about "Lane's Mystery of Love" in the coming months and maybe years. I'll be calling on some of you individually to help me solve my--your--mystery. I've been considering broaching this subject for years and now perhaps have the reasons and courage to do so. I hope that you will read my articles, watch my videos and perhaps help me accomplish my goals.
Consultations cost nothing and the relief is priceless.
